Tests are required by the federal government and the State of Iowa if you plan to work in a certified long term care facility as a nurse aide. The tests are given in two parts: the Nurse Aide Written Test and the Nurse Aide Skills Compentency testing. You have have three separate changes to take each test. When both tests are passed, your name will be placed on the Direct Care Worker Registry. After three no passing scores, on either test, you must take a nurse aide training program and retake both tests.
Nurse Aide Skills Testion sessions will be offered as follows:
1st week of the month Tuesday 1:00 - 6:00 pm
2nd week of the month Thursday 5:00 - 9:00 pm
3rd week of the month Wednesday 5:00 - 9:00 pm
4th week of the month Friday 12:00 - 5:00 pm
Payment required at the time of registration. You will need to provide the name of your course instructor. Picture ID is required to test. Candidates must arrive during the first hour of testing start time. Testing times are on a first come first served basis. Due to potential wait time, plan accordingly and bring materials to study. Testing times are subject to change.
