ID : 53
« back to classes page
This is the fourth class in a series of four dealing with diabetes.  Attendance in the previous classes is not required but they do serve as a foundation for this class.  Participants will learn about traveling with diabetes and suggestions on how they can be prepared in managing their diabetes during disaster situations such as floods or tornados. We will explore:  “How do I manage my medicine with time zone changes?”  “How do I properly store my insulin when traveling?” “What I do about my insulin pump/glucose meter when going through TSA?”  “I’m in shelter….what do I do?”  “What goes into a disaster emergency kit?”  “I’m stuck in the snow (or traffic).  Now what I do?”  This class is not designed to replace individual education or management.
