Introduction to Short Story Writing

Telling a story with a word limit can be a real challenge. In this class, we’ll work on taking the ideas generated in class and turning them into short stories with depth, emotion, and characters whose voices captivate the reader. There will ce a focus on setting, tone, voice, economy of word usage, character development, storyline development, storytelling, and flow. Discussion will be intersperesed with writing exercises and plenty of opporunities for feedback.
