A Day in Des Moines Bus Trip

Grab your friends and join us for the day to explore Des Moines! Our day will consist of visiting the beautiful and unique Iowa Capital Building! A guided tour will take you on an adventure to explore its historic halls and chambers. Providing insights into the state's history, government functions, and the architecture of the building- including the base of the golden dome! And what would be a trip to Des Moines be without a tour of the gorgeous and exotic Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, located in the heart of the city. A stunning 7-acre oasis that showcases a diverse collection of plants from around the world. The botanical garden aims to inspire and educate visitors about the importance of plants in our daily lives, conservation efforts, and environmental sustainability. You will also enjoy exploring the Historic East Village, steps away from the capital for shopping and lunch. We will leave in the morning and return late afternoon/early evening. There will be a lot of walking, so please wear comfortable shoes. Walkers and wheelchairs are welcome if accompanied. To amplify our collective learning experience, we may be divided into smaller groups to enjoy the tours at each location to the fullest. Lunch will be on your own. Expenses of the bus, tours and a light snack are covered by the registration. We will have a pick-up location in Clear Lake, so please specify when registering where you will be joining us.
