Critter Camp: Out Door Adventure Awaits

Please read:  Please have your child wear appropriate clothing and footwear to do outdoor activities. Monday June 9th- "Home on the Prairie"- Explore the new Hanson Nature Center and learn about local species. You may see an animal or a few! Hanson Nature Center (41600 US-69 Leland,Ia 50453) Tuesday June 10th- "Herps Day"- Amphibians & Reptiles... O My! Learn about what makes these creatures so neat! Meet some amphibian and reptile friends! Hanson Nature Center (41600 US-69 Leland, Ia 50453) Wednesday June 11th - "Take a Treasure Hike"- Let's take a hike through the woods, but looking for treasure! Geocaching is a fun way to get out in nature for a modern twist on a treasure hunt! Thorpe Park (34496 110th Ave. Forest City, Ia 50436) /Meet at Shelter House Thursday June 12th- "Nesting Day" - Learn about local winged creatures and explore Thorpe Park to find all the nesting boxes. Then use your skills and make your own nesting box to take and put up for your winged friends! ( Have your child bring a hammer, if able.) Thorpe Park (34496 110th Ave. Forest City, Ia 50436) / meet at the Shelter House Friday June 13th - " Pond Critters" - We're bringing back a favorite! You'll get a net and see what critters you'll wrangle out of the pond and surrounding area! Tadpoles...fish... snakes...you never know what you'll find! Pilot Knob- we will be meeting at the Warming House. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and Grandparent(s) are more than welcome to stay and participate! More information will come by email.
